The role
Aecon Nuclear is hiring a civil quality control inspector for the Darlington New Nuclear Project, which supports design, procurement, early site preparation, mobilization and construction of the first small modular reactor unit at the Darlington site. Reporting to the Civil Quality Manager, the inspector performs in-process and final inspections, completes inspection and test records, interprets civil drawings, verifies materials against purchase orders, codes and standards, identifies non-conforming work, supports project procedures and history files, and coordinates quality activities with clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
Requirements
Civil Engineering Technology diploma or equivalent; a combination of education and industry experience may be considered. Requires 1–3 years in heavy civil or infrastructure construction, prior concrete inspection and testing experience, knowledge of CSA A23.1, A23.2, N291, N287, W47.1 and W59, ability to understand design and construction requirements, MS Office proficiency, accuracy, organization and effective written and verbal communication. ACI/CCIL certification and CSA W178 Level 1 or 2 visual welding inspection certification are preferred.
