The role
Aecon Nuclear is adding a draftsperson for the SMR-X project at Darlington, supporting construction of Canada’s first small modular reactor. The role prepares fabrication drawings, quantity calculations, 3D models and drafting plans for steel and concrete structures; develops tooling, fabrication-template and inspection drawings; resolves as-built field conditions with project teams; communicates with clients; coordinates with design partners, trade supervision and project personnel; and contributes to continuous improvement of project metrics.
Requirements
Diploma in engineering design and drafting technology from NAIT or another accredited institution, or post-secondary education in design, civil or mechanical engineering, or architecture. Requires proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD, knowledge of structural components and fabrication drafting, at least 5 years in drafting or engineering design, heavy civil construction knowledge, ability to interpret field data and rough sketches, Microsoft Office skills, strong attention to detail and organization, a valid driver's licence, and examples of past drawings. Fusion and Revit are assets.
