The role
Aecon is seeking a site manager to support overall management of the Darlington New Nuclear Project site during readiness and execution of the Unit 1 small modular reactor. The manager contributes to construction planning, reviews and fit-for-purpose tools, then supervises, coordinates and schedules multiple work scopes. The role develops look-ahead schedules and site logistics, plans methods, labour, materials and equipment, enforces safety and quality programs, manages risks and recovery strategies, oversees trade labour and subcontractors, supports construction work packages and procurement, checks compliance with drawings, specifications, schedule and budget, and coordinates with the client, engineers, consultants and contractors.
Requirements
Minimum 7 years of civil or structural construction and subcontractor-supervision experience. Requires knowledge of construction technology, equipment, methods, trade agreements and jurisdiction, engineering, cost control, scheduling and safety; ability to plan installation sequences and coordinate constructability with engineering; experience managing complex nuclear construction projects; ability to interpret construction drawings, blueprints and specifications; and a full understanding of nuclear quality-assurance programs.
