The role
Support the design, assessment, restoration, and construction-stage delivery of new and existing buildings. Depending on the assigned discipline, work can include preliminary and detailed structural concepts, analysis, design checks, technical reports, drawings, specifications and tender documents, shop-drawing review, field evaluations, condition assessments, restoration design, building-envelope solutions, project costing, contract administration, and coordination with architects, engineers, consultants, clients, and contractors.
Requirements
An accredited civil/structural engineering degree with coursework in concrete, steel and wood design, building science, and building performance, or an applied-science degree in civil/buildings or mechanical engineering. Registration or eligibility as an Engineer-in-Training or Professional Engineer with Engineers and Geoscientists BC is required. The role asks for 0–2 years of civil/structural design experience; a valid driver’s licence is preferred.
