The role
Provide structural engineering for small and large mining projects, including underground facilities, mine shafts and headframes. The engineer develops layouts and analyses industrial concrete foundations and structural-steel systems through front-end planning and detailed multidisciplinary design. Responsibilities include calculations, specifications, criteria, estimates, design reviews, technical reports, monthly status reporting, supervision and review of junior technical work, and management of small capital and maintenance assignments.
Requirements
Accredited civil or structural engineering degree and registration as a professional engineer, or registration as an engineering candidate actively progressing toward professional registration. Requires at least two years of project-engineering experience including underground mining and structures such as shafts and headframes, knowledge of codes and standards, Staad Pro experience, planning and communication skills, and ability to work with limited supervision. Mathcad, SAP2000, 3D data-centric design and engineering-management-system knowledge are preferred.
