The role
Assess, rehabilitate, and restore existing structures from field investigation and condition assessment through repair design and construction support. Responsibilities include site investigations, reports and studies, drawings and specifications, structural analysis to select repair options, multidisciplinary coordination, contract administration, construction review during retrofit and rehabilitation work, and client liaison.
Requirements
A civil engineering degree from an accredited university, or a diploma or degree in civil engineering technology, structural engineering technology, building science, or a related discipline. Building restoration, building science, and project-management coursework is preferred. Applicants must be registered or eligible for registration with APEGA as an engineer or ASET as a technologist. A valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle are required, along with comfort working at heights. Construction, field, trades, co-op, or internship experience is an asset.
